You are a very supportive Change Agent for the project as we prepare UF for Workday. Actually, you’ve been involved since the start of the Empowering UF journey!
I’ve tried to be as involved as possible. I was honored to be there from the point when Deloitte was selected as our implementation partner. I am proud to be my department’s Change Agent and I was pleased to be invited to several Customer Confirmation sessions. I encourage everyone to watch the GBAS PowerUps! recordings [posted in Education & Resources], set time aside when invited to meetings or outreach events, and get familiar with the Empowering UF website resources. These opportunities have been incredibly helpful in building my understanding of the changes ahead.
What are you looking forward to with Workday? In what ways will this change support your colleagues?
I’m really looking forward to the implementation of Workday because it will streamline and modernize many of our core processes. Having a single, integrated system for functions like HR, payroll, and finance will improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data accuracy. I’m especially excited about the improved access to real-time information and self-service capabilities, which will empower employees and leaders to make more informed decisions. The user-friendly interface and reporting tools should also make it easier to find information, track performance, and support planning.
What advice can you share to help other staff adapt to significant changes like this?
Stay open and approach change with curiosity rather than resistance. Take advantage of trainings and available resources early, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Stay connected with colleagues to share insights and support one another. Start to learn the new language now — trust me, it needs its own Rossetta Stone.
Most importantly, be patient — adaptation takes time, and progress matters more than perfection.
