Empowering UF: September 21, 2022 Communication to Cabinet and Deans

September 21, 2022 3:14 pm

Dear Cabinet members and Deans,

Since our last communication, much progress has been made toward assessing our readiness to modernize UF’s business processes and administrative systems.   As of last week, Empowering UF has undertaken a significant effort to engage hundreds of university stakeholders in business process maturity model workshops.  We have been delighted with the interest from the units and colleges in participating in these workshops, as their input will give the project team a grounded sense of the maturity of UF’s current business processes, as well our desired future state.

In conjunction with these business process workshops, we will also conduct a series of leadership interviews to refine the strategic approach based upon priorities among UF’s future business processes and administrative systems.  Invitations will be going out to a group of university leaders this week.  If you receive an invitation, we encourage you to participate, as this is yet another way that you can help support this modernization effort.

Finally, we have launched a project website, empowering.ufl.edu, to serve as an informational resource for the university community that includes details about the project, its purpose and governance, and FAQs. For your convenience, we are also posting previous communications to the Empowering UF website under the “updates” tab.   Please share this information widely with the appropriate staff in each of your respective units and colleges.

Thank you for your time and engagement.  Please contact us directly or the project team at empowering-uf@ufl.edu with any input or questions that you may have.

Sincerely,

Chris Cowen, SVP and Chief Financial Officer

Charlie Lane, SVP and Chief Operating Officer
