An introduction to the FDM

The Foundation Data Model, known as the FDM, is the backbone of Workday’s finance, HR and payroll systems.

What is included?

The FDM is the design of the data model used across human capital management, payroll, supply chain and finance that establishes the foundation for Workday transaction processing and reporting.

Why is it important?

The FDM provides the foundation for three key functions in Workday:
