Security Role Mapping is the process in which university leaders identify user roles in the Workday system to grant faculty and staff specific access to Workday business processes and reports. To facilitate this process, HR Liaisons and Financial Accountable Officers have been asked to assemble teams in their areas who will begin to map roles for their college or unit over the course of the next few months. While Security Role Mapping requires considerable coordination and input up front, this investment to understand and assign the correct roles early will pay dividends later when staff start using Workday in July 2027. This collaboration is a key component of our change management approach to ensure participation, feedback and engagement from faculty and staff throughout the university.
