In their words

More than 100 staff members have been selected to represent their departments as part of the Empowering UF Change Agent Network. This cohort was mobilized in June 2025, when they met in person and began the onboarding process to become change management liaisons to support their colleagues. Here are three change-makers, in their own words.

Meet Empowering UF Change Agent Kimberly Morabito, MBA, Director of the Shared Services Center in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences

Kimberly Morabito is proud to represent the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a Change Agent. As the project progresses, she will be a valued go-to person for her colleagues to help them prepare and embrace new technology.

What do you do for your college?
In my role, I provide leadership and oversight for a team of staff who process all fiscal and HR transactions for 24 academic departments within the college. Our office also supports the college’s international engagement by managing visa processing for faculty and visiting scholars. I ensure that our operations are accurate, efficient and compliant with institutional, state and federal requirements, while fostering a high level of customer service to departments and faculty.

What excites you about our journey to Workday?
I am most excited to learn how Workday will enhance our processes and overall efficiency. I look forward to seeing how having information centralized in one system will make our work more streamlined, accurate and easier to manage across the college and university. I think Workday will benefit our college by streamlining processes, improving overall efficiency, and making information more accessible by having everything in one place. This will allow us to work more effectively and provide better support to faculty, staff, and students.

We’re pleased to have you among our Change Agent Network!
I am proud to serve as a Change Agent for the college because it allows me to support my colleagues as they transition into Workday. In this role, I can provide guidance, answer questions and help ease the learning curve, ensuring that the college adapts successfully to this important change.

Tell us about your role in Human Resources.
My role involves providing strategic and operational leadership for the College of Medicine’s HR team, including our HR Business Partners, Transaction Center, and Centers of Expertise for Employee Relations, Immigration and Compliance and Benefits. I ensure we deliver effective, compliant, and customer-focused HR services.

How will Workday benefit UF?
I am most excited about how Workday will integrate and streamline processes that currently require multiple systems, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual work for our teams. For the College of Medicine, I see Workday improving data accuracy, supporting better decision-making and creating a more seamless experience for employees and HR staff alike.

We’re glad you’re a Change Agent! What does this role mean to you?

Portrait of Hector Silvia

Meet Empowering UF Change Agent Hector Silva, Director of Finance in the College of Education.

Hector Silva has attended discovery, design and customer confirmation sessions with peers from across the university. As you’ll see, this isn’t his first academic technology transformation!

We hear you have experience with other projects to modernize university platforms?
I’ve spent 26 years in higher ed, spanning three universities. This is also my third modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation since 2016. I was involved in Workday HCM and Oracle Cloud HCM and finance implementations.

Tell us about your role in the UF College of Education.
I serve as the chief business officer, acting as a strategic advisor and operational leader, providing comprehensive financial oversight, and serving as the main liaison between the institution and the college. I assist the Dean with strategic and tactical initiatives, and ensure financial health, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

How have you been involved in Empowering UF?
I am privileged to be selected as one of the College Liaisons providing input in planning, architecture and configuration activities so far. In collaboration with the other liaisons, I provide an ‘in the trenches’ perspective and insights into finance and cross-functional areas related to current versus future business processes and workday functionality. Together, we ensure that the needs of colleges, departments, centers and other academic/research units are kept at the forefront of the Empowering UF initiative.

How do you feel about Workday for UF?
This transition presents a unique opportunity that only happens every 20 years or so to align our business processes with best practices, hopefully reducing unnecessary complexity and non-value-added steps.

This transition offers the entire finance, operational, HR and administrative staff community the chance to collaboratively build a new, shared foundation. All team members — from the most experienced to the newest — will benefit from learning together, fostering a sense of unity and mutual support.
