Absence Management allows employees to request both everyday time off (like vacation or sick time) and longer-term leaves of absence, while giving managers and HR Professionals an easy way to review and approve those requests.
Absence in Workday encompasses both time off as well as Leave of Absence. Request Absence/Manage Absence tasks allow the worker to choose between a longer term (leave of absence) vs. a shorter term (time off) request.

Legacy Term: Timesheet

Legacy Term: Accrual
A sequence of one or more tasks that accomplish the desired business objective (i.e., hiring an employee, paying an invoice).
Legacy Term: EPAF or Workflow
A single leave of absence taken as separate, shorter periods of time.
Legacy Term: Sporadic Leave
Specific type of leave of absence, such as parental or medical/FMLA.
