Key Terminology
Structure that groups workers under a single manager to define reporting relationships and drive staffing, security and business processes.
Legacy Term: Department
Defines the core attributes of a job — such as duties, job family, pay range and eligibility rules.
Legacy Term: Job Code
Classifications (like company, cost center and fund) that link a worker to the correct organizational structures for reporting, payroll and business processes.
Legacy Term: Default Chart Field Components
Staffing or Financial transaction within Workday.
Legacy Term: EPAF
Also known as costing overrides. Mechanism that determines how payroll expenses (salary, fringe benefits, stipends, etc.) are distributed across funding sources.
Legacy Term: Payroll Distributions
Annual Work Period (AWP) is a configuration that defines the period during the year when an employee is expected to work, based on their appointment or contract.
